A shopkeeper offers 10% off-season discount to the customers and still makes aprofit of 26%. What is the cost price for the shopkeeper on a pair of shoes markedat Rs. 1120?
Solution
Transcript
Given,
MP of pair of shoes = Rs 1120
Profit = 26%
Discount = 10%
Discount allowed = 10/100 × 1120
= Rs 112
So, SP of the shoes = (1120 - 112) = Rs 1008
By using the formula,
CP = 100/(100 + gain%) × SP
= 100/(100 + 26) × 1008
= 100/126 × 1008
= Rs 800
∴ Cost price of a pair shoes is Rs 800
"hello students i am rita your math leader tutor and today's question is a shopkeeper offers 10 percent off season discount to the customers and still makes a profit of 26 percent what is the cost price for the shopkeeper on a pair of shoes marked at rupees 1120 so in this question mark price is given to us rupees 1120 and discount percent is given to us that is 10 percent so in this question first of all we find the selling price the formula of selling price is marked price minus discount so mark price is 1120 and the discount is 10 percent off marked price and the discount is 10 off marked price now we solve this so the selling price is 1120 minus 112 so the selling price is rupees 1008 so this is our selling price and we have to find the cost price now selling price is given to us rupees 1008 and profit percent is given to us 26 percent now we find the selling price now we apply the formula of cost price 100 divided by 100 plus profit per cent into sp now we put the values and find the cp 100 100 plus 26 that is 126 and the sp is 1008 so we divided then we got cp is equal to 1800 divided by 126. so we got one zero zero zero eight 0 0 divided by 126 we got 800 so this is our cp is 800 this is our answer i hope you like this video so please subscribe video for more updates and do comment your questions thank you "
