I will try.  Thank you. I have no problem with raw video, but only with crop.
I have some questions about your first thread for this topic:
What is the reason to do item No3 if you do item No22?
Why the succession is not correct:1-14,17-20,24-27,22,23,28. Is it simply error?
Item No23: after pressing the zoom button 5X and pressing the LV button (item No28)
should i see recording process on the screen (as normally i see during raw recording?)

My card is easily handling the 1920x1080 raw video, but when i try to record the magnified way, even if i set the FPS to 25, the recording stops after 20-25 frames!!!
is it happening to you too?
are you setting a lower resolution? (perhaps 720p)
I am using the 19th May built compiled by laurenco

Thank you all guys, it's a great community here!!!

The x5 mode is a lot more cpu and memory intensive (3.5K source frames)

Thank you very much for your reply, A1ex.
I switched back to the 17th May build and i am now able, having set exact fps at 25, to record without any problem also when magnified!!!   (i am letting you all know, for it may help somebody else, and because the developers may be interested too, you never know :) )

Yea, there are some errors, will correct it.  Then I will answer your question.  Give me a little time.

Probably you forgot to set FPS override.  If you do not set this during zoom it will default back to 29.97 fps the moment that you press zoom.

Is this with globaldraw off? Are the results consistent and repeatable? What write speeds are you getting in both cases?

Ok, all done now.

Question 1.
These are two different things.  In old step 3 you are selecting a feature that allows you to move the focusing box to predetermined locations.  One of those (Top Left) get you pretty close to where you will record video in zoomed mode.
In old step 22 (now 23) you are actually using the feature.  If you press the joystick, the focusing box will jump from one position to another.  So you should press the joystick until you get to the TOP Left position.

Q 2. My mistake, all corrected now.

Q3. Yes just press LV button for recording.

New ANSWER:

I tried this with my fastest card: 1000X Lexar  Video at 1920x1080 24 fps

Normal RAW video records but buffer is begging to fill so this is close to the limit.

When I press zoom I can only record 100 to 200 frames at 1920X1080 with FPS Override = 24 fps

If I enable Hack3D then I can record to 4 GB.

I do this with Global Draw = OFF  to have full color LV

I did not forget to set FPS, i tryed both with globadraw off and on, they were consistent and repeatable.
I managed to capture always only 21 frames before it would fill up

So, are you swapping the 17th May and a newer one, and the old one works? or it's just that you remember it worked?

Post the write speeds and changeset numbers, otherwise I'm not able to diagnose it.

When I press 5x zoom and then LV button there is "Memory error MB" for very short time. It is the same for all builds (May 17,18,19,20). CF Transend 600. For enabled Hack3D too. For 1920x1080 and smaller size (1600x720) too.

New commits are now bringing bad frames every 40 to 50 frames in zoomed mode.  Repeatable.

sorry A1ex, have been super busy until now.
i had switched back to the 17th build in order for making it work.
if it can help the community i will temporarily install the 19th build (or the last compiled build now available) and paste my config file (if that the right way to do it?)

For now we only get 3X from the development.  Maybe some day we will get other crop factors.  Maybe Canon should just give the code to these guys and we could have some really nice cams... Maybe not..  That would take the fun out of it!

I'm confused tho.. this video shows different 'zoom' factors... is this not coming out of Magic Lantern?
