@oli650D: There may be a workaround for you:
Tap a single pin on your lens or camera (
Link, german only), set focus mode on the lens to AF, enable "Continuous shooting", adjust focus distance manually and press the shutter button. Would be best to use a wired remote where the shutter button can be fixed in that position.
Tested it with 650D and EF 100/2.8 L IS USM Macro (IS off) and EF 100/2.8 Macro USM. Works like a charm. May be not your choice because shooting will continue as long as focus is established and SD-Card has free space.
Tested it with 7D: Not that great. 7D shoots once, gives an Err and will not do a second shot until shutter button is released.
But there is an ML alpha 2 doing trap focus without hardware tweaks. ;-)
