Thanks for your reply. The matter is that I don't own any 70D yet at this moment. But this is rather important in my choice.  :-\

70D has a max write speed of 45MB/s. You should get a card able to provide this write speed.

Manufactures are very vague with guaranteed write speed.  Most use phrases like "up to" rather than "guaranteed".
All that matters for raw video is write speed.  I would suggest 50 MB/s or faster, much faster if you can afford it.

Hello!

before the version " 10th Mar .: Alpha4 " could choose resolutions : 1504 , 1536 , etc ..

Update to version " August 6th : Alpha -7a " and goes directly: 1280 to 1600. I can not select resolutions : 1504 , 1536, ...

Why?
You can download the version " 10th Mar .: Alpha4 " again ?

Thanks and sorry for my bad english!!

nikfreak

Cannot confirm!!! re-check please!

Hi!

Where is the link for download "10th Mar .: Alpha4 "?

Thanks! :)

nikfreak

i have noolder links to share and even don't support older builds and furthermore wouldn't also like the thread being spammed about earlier build discussions. Again, listen what I say, you can change resolution like on older builds but not via the dropdown menu. use wheel or left / right buttons once resolution is highlighted to slightly change the resolution. The dropdown submenu only enables you to change resolution in bigger steps. Try it. You will get what I mean....

Hi, have been using ML on my 7D for a while and have found it reliable. Focus peaking and increased bit rates are part of my every day film needs. I have now installed 70D.111B on my 70d and wanted to ask a couple of Q's. In the video page of the settings there is no listing for the CBR/VBR functionality. Also there is no reference to shooing RAW. I can see the HDR settings but I wanted to experiment with the RAW video but it does not seem to be a part of this build.

So, CBR/VBR and RAW settings are missing. Or are they somewhere else?

Also, another irritation is that when in the ML settings I have to keep pressing buttons all the time. If I don't press a button for more than a second it just switches back to live view. This does not happen on the 7D.

I was an early adopter of the 70D in the UK so assume it is one of the first builds. I have searched for Canon firmware updates but it seems they have forgotten about improving the 70D so am still on 1.1.1 as I have found nothing else.

Thanks for any help.

Raw Functions should be there, they are on mine. Check that you have the Module Turned On.

You should also read " What's not working " @ the bottom of the " Change Log " in the " 1st Post "

Thanks. Newbie and had not spotted the 'not working' list. I can now see that there are already reported menu issues and the bit rate setting are missing. Bit rate was the main reason for loading it on the 70d so I guess that will return at some point in the future. Hope so. Still cant find RAW video function, not sure what you meant by the module being on.

Module tab. You have to enable and load modules to make RAW/MLV work.

Good evening!

I just installed Alpha 7a2, and set the FPS Override to 6FPS.  The whole video has vertical banding, as demonstrated in the below screen shot.  I shot two more videos; one at 3FPS and another with a different lens.  All three have the same vertical banding.  Any ideas?

Thanks!!

nikfreak

@Johnny: Did his happen on earlier builds or is this your first time trying FPS override feature?

@All: Can anyone using 70D.111A confirm the issue?

I tried 6 (from 25) and had no banding.

Also this message "1x, setting up from 800,1600" wouldn't disappear.

Ok that means it appears only on 70D.111B. Regarding the message "1x, setting up from 800,1600" that's a leftback from my tests. Forgot to exclude it and will be removed in next update. Actually it simply disturbs but has no influence... Guess I have to wait some days until proper requested reports for 7a2 appear (read 1st post)
