Hector, lets hope the Magic Lantern team can do wonders with the M3. I've used Magic Lantern Canon DSLR's from time to time, but I have never owned one personally simply because I'm looking for a quality Mirrorless Magic Lantern camera. Lets hope the M3 is the camera myself and many other have been waiting for.

Probably it would fit in the 50D if it does in the 60D. But they are designed for 1080p video. They don't produce nice results in 720P for example, so most probably the 50D's raw resolution(s) will be trouble.

This is true, they are designed for 1080p, all except the one for the Nikon D800 anyway. That one is recommended for both 1080p and 720p. It would still be good to know if one will fit and even better if someone could test it.

My question is off topic, but I can't find a better place to ask it. With the addition of RAW video on the 50D, the 50D is a tool I might just add to my kit. The only issue is the line skipping causing moire and aliasing artifacts. I know Mosaic Engineering makes some really effective video aliasing filters (VAF) for many of the Canon and Nikon DSLR's. Since the 50D was never intended to do video Mosaic Engineering doesn't make one for the 50D. I see some of their VAF's work on multiple camera's like the same one works on the T2i, T3i, and T4i. I was wondering if anyone knows if one of the other VAF's work on the 50D? For example does the VAF for the 60D also fit the 50D?

Any chance any of the SD card based Canon DSLR's internal SD hardware can harness the fast data rates of the new Panasonic MicroP2 SD cards? At 2Gb/s they are currently the only UHS-II cards I know of.

What for? There's no aliasing or moire.

That's sarcasm I hope. Regardless of whether the 5D3 is shooting H264 or RAW it's still line skipping. It's very apparent in the RAW shots posted, except the 1-1 stuff. That said it's good enough for most people in most situations, I just strive for perfection. Magic Lantern is one of the keys, and Mosaic Engineering is the other.

Wow they are very comparable. They would cut together very nicely. You can see in the windows in the Dojo that the Blackmagic Cinema Camera has a little more latitude with less blow out. It's probably only a stop tho. Very nice. Thanks for the comparison.

I saw how you said no cards are fast enough for 24p and the buffer is an issue with 24p when going out HDMI. Forgive my ignorance, but would it be possible to get 12fps recorded to a card and the other 12fps going out the HDMI, and then combine in post to get 24p?
