Anyone tried full res 3fps mode on EOS M .everytime i try, it doesnt work. Recording stops immediately no matter i chose 10 bit or 14 bit. The sd card is powerful enough. I wonder if something else is causing it

Firstly we to get a single frame for each Binning mode at maximum resolution:

-5208x3478 in 1:1 (maybe we already have the map for this?)
-1736x3478 in 1x3

Then we more likely need to follow dfort tutorial about creating focus pixel maps, maybe it's somewhere in this topic.
We can already get 5208x3478 1:1 with crop mood build (Full-Res preset). I will need to create 1736x3478 1x3 preset in order to get a frame.

I will into 100D focus pixels maps this week.

Thanks for mentioning this, I thought manual audio level settings don't work with RAW recording, this thing was definitely bugging me on 700D.
I will look into it and see if I can do something, will check what's the status on 5D3 too (does it have the same bug?).

Should be possible yes, and it seems useful in some ways. I will try to add an option in RAW video submenu to customize MLV file names.

Could you give more details? I might be able to improve something.
I am not sure if I want to bring back 1080p 3x3 for 650D / 700D / 100D . . because they have native 1080p mode and it works better than crop mood 1080p preset.

Is it possible to have L/R buttons change shutter speed ? I use manual lenses so it makes more sense to have Up/down buttons change ISO and have L/R buttons change shutter since those two are only things we can control with manual lenses.

The audio gain bug has been on this camera or any camera which doesnt let magic lantern control audio settings since the begining. I dont know if its possible to fix that (going to canon menu is the only hack to fix it).

Could there be an option to have "sticky zoom" on half press shutter. Like press half shutter to go 10x zoom and press half shutter again to go out of zoom.

For those who didn't know, it is possible to record Uncompressed (As opposed to Lossless) with some presets.
The advantage is that the Data Rate being constant, Scene Complexity and Brightness have little effect on recording times.

It's normal to select uncompressed and data rate being same..there is no compression happening u like lossless so yeah data rate will be same..for lossless version, the more light or unique details means less redunt bits and final size reduction won't be huge. But if we shoot like a blank wall with no detail in the bright sun, we will get less final size.

Regarding shadows. Last time I tried, I couldn't see any difference in the result. Maybe need to try again.

Yes it is. I was talking about Magic zoom V2 in your old build.

Actually it works, it shows raw zebras but it's not localited in the good area it's shift on left. but we can use other zebras and it works very well even it clips before raw.

I thinkraw zebras are better because it shows real data. So even if other zebras show clipping, in reality, we can still expose little more because raw zebras shows its not clipping. other zebras dont use raw data. But yeah its shifted on left.It works perfect in 1080p raw mode. Idk how easy it is to fix that . I think it doesnt use the crop preview to show it. Maybe Bilal can look into it if its easy to fix but if not, its still fine.

Thanks, I didn't make a try to balance the missing part of frame in both left and right sides yet it could be possible.
Switching the preview each frame more likely will cause corrupted frames while recording, still not quite sure yet.

Or another alternative could be is to not have 204 black pixels on one side but rather have 102 black pixels on either side. Since most people focus on things in center of frame anyway and also it would look less jarring.

You can take such ideas and take time and release such things as "add ons" for your crop mood build. especially if u come up with more improvements and more ideas and still keep this build as perfect as possible.

Preivew width limit now is around ~2860 pixels (going above this introduce black bar), much better than 2044, it should cover the following 1:1 presets:

-2.5K, 2520x1080 (already tested)
-2.8K, 2880x1226 (width tested, height not yet, should work)
-1440p, 2560x1440 (not tested yet, should work)

Thats awesome. You are pushing the limits everyday. Almost made it to the 3k limit.

Ok I made some tests and the 2.8k 10 bit looks almost real time, as bit depth or resolution increases the refresh rate decreases.. Could it be partly because I'm using an old and slow sd card? What card are you using?

Yes higher resolution and bit depth will make it laggier. 2.5k 10 bit is most fast and 5.2k is least but still usable. i am using sandisk pro 200 mb/s

Do every preview benefit from this commit or only the grayscale ones? A faster framing preview on all modes would be a game changer.

I have tested. All crop modes benefit from it. The higher the resolution, more laggy it would be but thats normal and still significantly faster. I use 2.5k, 2.8k and they are almost same speed as real time preview. even 5.2k is now totally usable.

New updates are great. I have tested all presets and no frame drops so far. Great.
One question though. Is it possible to make the greyscale display that shows up WHILE recording when we set to framing a little bit faster? Not the framing display but the one that shows while recording is going on.  Maybe make it skip more frames so as to keep up with the action. Since realtime preview isnt possible on higher modes, having a little bit faster framing display while recording can make upto it.

I remember when Bilal introduced frtp modes he showed 4.3k as well as 4.5k mode with 2:39 aspect ratio. Eos m only have 4.3k and 4k UHD frtp modes . Is there a way to get the 4.5k frtp mode i.e 1504x1782?

When I try to zoom by pressing half shutter , it usually takes around 2 seconds to zoom and then again 2 seconds to zoom out. It doesnt happen while recording. Then it works instantaneously. Is this common behavior? How can make it faster while not recording. I am using 5k frtp mode.

Thats nice. And maybe make the focus box smaller? Is that possible too? Because in 5k frtp 2:35 mode, the 5x zoom makes focus box too large on already small preview

Is there way to disable canon gui but have the focus box? Because in 5k frtp mode, if i want focus box and enable gui then cropmarks randomly wont appear and there is flashing in bottom area. Without gui, the flashing rarely happens but then cant get confirmation if press half shutter to focus.

Found the problem. It was the new tweak , lvface+aewb. If i select this then this issue happens. Lvface alone doesnt have it

I have an issue where no matter what shutter speed i select. As soon as i press recording, the shutter goes into 1/30 and stays there while recording. Any ides why ots happening? I even tried shutter lock but this issue still happens.

Select "Focus End Point". Press dial left or right -> entry changes to "+/- steps from here". Change to "Rack focus" and press Set.

Well I guess something wrong with my lens because when when I do that and entry changes with + and - the focus doesn't change.maybe it doesnt work with ef-m lenses

How did u made it work?. There are only two settings . Focus end point and rack focus. But in focus end point, no matter how much I move dial and change , the focus doesn't move. Is there any setting on camera that needs to be done?

Does rack focus setting work ? I tried to set focus distance with  15-45mm af lens but doesnt seem to work

Only in the step when transcoding to DNG, so in MLVApp or MLVFS. Resolve can't remove that.

So if i output as cinema dng from mlvapp, there is no way i can remove the focus pixel maps later? because any edit made in mlvapp doesnt apply to cinemadng
