the video-proxies should work :) please turn on the debug (upper right button) and do a test. inside the debug.log should stay the output of the ffmpeg.exe process. right in the end.

regards chmee

btw : 16bit tif (demosaiced), therefore prores and other codecs on its way, still coding and deciding what demosaicing-algorithm i should take. vng4? dcb? ahd? (atmoment on vng4). @a1ex maybe you a statement?

chmee, dose the mlvdiag.1.0.1 take a while to analyze files ? Its kept running with not results.
I stop it after 5min.
I have a problem with mlv+audio file+7 spanning , in total 30GB from 5D2
I tried the new raw2cdng(v1.6.1) could not read it & MlRawViewer 1.2.3 would preview the first 24% with metadata
but could not export anything ,  MLVBrowseSharp did export 14 out of 30 GB with audio to Raw legacy with preview turn off
before the program crashed. I can preview that Raw legacy with audio file in raw2cdng (v1.6.1) & MlRawViewer 1.2.3.
So this is what happen to cause this problem. :-[
On a shot, the door of the cam on the CF card was open by mistake after the
cam stop recording but before the cam was turn off the card was not removed thou.
So I turned the cam of remove the card , dump card to laptop and kept on filming with out any more issue .
I also tried mlv_dump by command line no go , so all this leads me to believe that after the 2nd spanning file it
loose its path.
So I was hoping that  mlvdiag could point to a problem I could repair. So far I saved 4700 frames out of 10,000 frames
about 3min out of 8min . Any advice is appreciated thanks  :D

it seems, the problem is more on the following split-files. maybe a debugfile from raw2cdng can help on solving.. (pastebin please)

@reddeercity:
use mlvdiag 1.01 and drag/drop your file straight on the 55mb rectangle on bottom. make it available for us as a download. cause its really strange it does not find a RAWI-Block - tell us the firmware-version, build-date and changeset, if possible.

Very sad state ML is in when you can't get a little info!
But I guess every one is more concern with

@reddeercity
sorry, it was weekend, there's more than internet. i could import your file into mlvdiag and it shows a rawi-tag. i was able to use it via raw2cdng as well. so. this shortened version works. you said, its a splitted file, but in your debug.log theres counted only one file. so, yes without doubt i believe you theres a problem, but i cant get it. you said, another converters are having problems also?!

Sorry from before just frustrated.

Yes , I can extract about 4700 frame to raw legacy with MLVBrowseSharp out of 10,000 frames then crashes (just stops responding & with no preview enabled )
MlRawViewer 1.2.3. will load the spanning 30 GB file but with a still image and stops responding at 25% on the progress bar.

Is there a way for checking to see which spanning file is missing the "RAWI Block"
And can a RAWI Block be copy from a different spanning file with change or modified data to work?
I think its at the 2-3 spit file but not sure.

Spanned files don't have to have a rawi block. There just needs to be at least one somewhere.

Strange  :o
I Can extract with old version of mlv2dng from August, 28th 2013, with header error audio & missing 804 or 10,320 frames
as After Effect reports , doing a quick render to see what happens.
but at least I have 90% of it in dng's

So would that be a damage header , also is that where the spanning info is ?

The MLV file format is a "block" based format. There isn't really just a header, there are lots of blocks each with their own headers. There isn't really spanning information anywhere, spanned files have to be auto-detected by the converter. You should try mlv_dump with the -v option (this will list all the blocks).

@chadmuffin
did a test. Test12m_[D]_[C] leads to very long sequencingnumbers (you: Test12m_141020_20145600001)
try with an underline in parenthesis on end. Test12m_[D]_[C](_)

edit: (ah sorry, i tested first with 16bit maximized/highlight fix). but yes, with 12bit it works as well.
[F]_[D]_001_C0000(_) (for example)

I think I found the problem, Open all the spanning files with a hex editor and found that .M02
has "0" data from Offset (6C98CD00) to (FF6EA030)

Code: [Select]

Look to me as to be no info there . So the only way I can extract at this point is with mlv2dng with 800 frames missing of 10,320.
In which I have done but can't get the audio thou.
Better then nothing  ::)

@reddeercity
because mlv is a block-based format it should work, you delete empty stuff and partly destroyed blocks. then merge part a and b. do not forget to make a backup..

and yes, thats a good hint for mlvdiag, to cope with those errors.

wow!thats gonna b great! i hv stopped shooting raw after buying 650D as it has so many problems like pink dots n audio which i cant turn off agc. after releasing raw2cdn version 1.6.2, i sould definitely start shooting raw again. raw2cdng is the best converter out there. many people dont know the right converter so they r having problems recording raw but for me recording n editing raw is as easy as  recording n editing h264
