Newbie quetsion. ML on a card and not the camera?

Folks, we all have to start somewhere.  So sorry if I am not up to speed.

I don't mind having it installed in the camera - I guess - but was wondering if there is a way that it is on a specific card only.

So if I want to use the camera (Canon 550D) in "normal mode" I use one card.  If I want to use ML I turn it off and swap SD cards and the new one has ML on it.

Possible?
