Before installing ML to a 5d3 i read that Auto Boot is disabled which means that one would have to re-run the firmware  update every time you power off the camera.

I just wanted to know the implications of this, does this mean that there is no delay in the start up process only a delay when turning off the camera. If so how long is the delay when turning off the camera.

Many thanks.

There should be no delay when turning off the camera AFAIK. Auto boot should only affect the start-up time

Ok that's kind of worse, are we talking seconds ? Of course I suppose there's no reason why I couldn't reserve the use of the ML card for ML required shooting.

Even with autoboot enabled, my 5D3 starts a lot slower than 5D2 (a few seconds, but noticeable; 5D2 is almost instant).
