Motion Detect + Self Timer

Hello,

I want to take a shot motion detected. However, I want the picture taken 2seconds after the motion has been detected (let's say I want to take a picture of a marmot coming out of its hole; I don't want the picture to be taken immediately, but after some short time).

Now this works basically for me, however, 2 pictures are always taken - one immediately after the motion has been detected, the other after the self-timer has timed out. Now the click of the shutter might already scare away my marmot.

Can anyone reproduce this behavior? Is this meant to be or a 'bug'? Any ideas for solutions/workarounds?

Would a silent pic photo be of any use? Or would he resolution be to low?
