60D-Focus point function. How do i get it to work?

There is a function in ML 2.3 under trap focus. Its for new combinations of focus points. i turn it on and i still get my regular 9 points by themselves and all 9 at once. How do i get it to pick just the cross type points or all the ones on the right or left? thanks in advance.

I did. its not in there. The user guide isnt a trouble shoot. its just basic info.

Pattern selection has a new way of working now.
Download the latest nightly release and you'll realize it's much more user friendly.

Can you help me find it? The only user guide i see is exactly like the one on the camera when i click on the item to see what it does. Thanks
