Hi,
my nephew in full trust of the technical skills of his uncle gave his 1100D to me. It shows err 70 while booting.
I read, that it might be a problem with the settings, so the cam should be set back to factory settings. My only question is: How can I override the error handler to get in the menu for a factory reset. Or is there a kind of a shortcut or anything similar?

Thanks in advance for helping or at least your time to read this...

Does the 1100D have ML installed?
If yes, did you get any error log on the card?
Do you know what he did to trigger the error?

Hi A1ex,
nope, ML is not installed yet. He did "nothing", like all users ;-= Tried to switch it on in all modes, removed battery, lens and SD Card, switched all parts with my (working) 1100Ds. Must be a error in the cameras body.
Therefor I thought that there might be a way to override the errorhandler and reset the whole thing to factory settings. I read, you gave a modified autoexec.bin to a user for exactly that prupose? Would that work with a yet unmodified 1100D too ?

Thanks for your precious time!

To install ML, you need access to Canon menu. You can't get there, right?

Can you try this trick? It helped with a 550D without ML, similar problem.
