I had to to a Sounddesign for University for a video of my choice. So i decided to do a shortfilm/BMX edit from the BMX rider Marian Hofmann from Stuttgart, Germany. The Sound was completely done afterwards. Filmed with Canon 60D and Magic Lantern.
I would be happy to hear some critics :)

Hi Thanks a lot for sharing.

The movie is pretty great already. I've never done something like this, but I have some observations that might help.

- the scene you used as thumbnail looks not properly white balanced. Same goes for the shot on the balcony. Maybe with some color correcting it can look more interesting. Draw somewhat more attention to the subject as you managed nicely in the scenes at the beginning. You could use a bluish scene if you want to set a mood but that doesn't seem to work here. Especially if you cut to a sunny day next.

- You could build up some more tension by not revealing the action right away. Start with a shot on the square with the camera placed on the monument overlooking the square and let the bike rush through the frame. The "what was that! shot". Repeat that. Like with a wide shot at the base of the monument pointing upwards and suddenly the bike jumps through the frame (unsharp close by). This way you get an establishing shot so the viewer has an idea of the place and build up tension in one go. Then cut straight to some serious action and maintain sense of motion and speed by cutting in some very short close-ups. They don't have to be sharp. They just need to emphasize motion and speed to make it look even more spectacular. Play with different angles.

Thanks a lot for your comment b4rt!

at the first scenes (where he just wakes up) I tried to show that the scene takes place early in the morning, so i used a wrong WB on purpose, so that it looks bluish. Well, now I learned that was a mistake, and that i have to do such a color correction in post. Because some other colors (the green trees at the balcony for eg) got very interesting colors. But i changed the thumbnail :)

And well, dramaturgically the video stucks between a regular BMX edit (in the middle) and some short film style scenes (beginning/end). I had realised this problem after the video was already done. next time i have to plan before, i think.
And then use establishing shots and so on :)
