Go back to the canon 1.2.3 firmware and install MagicLantern. Simple.

Kichetof, if you are looking for sun, come to my city, Pune, India. Lots of sun and lots of beer.   :P

Look forward to your next update. Very happy to do testing too.

@Greenduck, above is your answer. I told you the development gurus would give you a better solution.
:)
#31
Thanks Walter. Could you elaborate for me?

Short answer:
Yes.

Caveat:
Dont format the card once you have ML loaded on it if you use only one card. If you want to format the card I would uninstall ML, copy ML files to a temp folder on the computer, format the card, Reload ML files from the temp folder and re-install ML. However, the development gurus may give you a shorter process.

Best practice (mine):
Get a SD card for ML. They are dirt cheap. You can get by with a 1 GB card. I have a 4GB card.

Thanks. I kind of knew that but was hoping for a miracle. You guys are great at miracles :)

A1ex, Thanks, that sorted out the 5D3 issue. Here is the image from the 5D3:

However, it did not install on the 7D2. Please note I have a 7D2 and not the 7D. I tried to load it using the firmware update but got the following message. Attached are the two images - one before starting the firmware update and the other when it tried to do the firmware update.
Before selecting firmware update on the 7D2:

After doing the firmware update on the 7D2:

Is there something else I need to do? Do you want me to do any other test?

I have a 5D3 and a 7D2. This I first tried it on the 5D3. I dont know what I am doing wrong but I get this screen when I put the card in and close the card slot door:

The procedure I followed on the 5D3 was:
1.  So I copied my ML card over to a test card and verified that it worked right (could un-install ML and reinstall ML).
2.  Replaced the autoexec.bin from the link in the first post onto this test card.
3.  Placed the card in the slot and closed the door.
4.  I got the above screen.
5.  Removed the battery.
6.  Replaced the original ML card.
7.  Camera booted with ML and it worked.

So I thought that may be the other ML files were not needed So I removed the ML folder and the .FIR file but got the same result.

What am I doing wrong?

Do you want me to try something on the 7D2?

Very sharp!

Going from 1.2.3 to 1.1.3, the significant loss in the Canon firmware will be the ability to auto focus at f/8.

Yup. Eyefi cards do not work for ML  :(

Which sliders did you play with for CA removal?

Lots of discussions on the Canon Rumours site. Take a look there.

General Help Q&A / Re: Sync'ed timelapse

Curious to know why you want to do that. Are you shooting a stereo time lapse?
#45
You could install ML on some other SD card. I have not installed it on my CF card as I swap those cards out and did not want to do any R&D to figure if it would work. Once you are done with your preview of ML, uninstall it and then you can shoot with the EyeFi card. As it fits your need perfectly - jpegs from the SD card, that is great.

Hi, mine did not work. I tried it in June...

Also see:

Besides, it does not give you true wifi capability as it only transfers what is on the eyefi card and not the stuff on the CF card.

Share Your Photos / Re: Focus Stacking and 3D Effect
October 14, 2014, 02:06:25 PM
Two below are focus stacked using CombineZP. I took the pictures with the Focus Stacking feature of Magic Lantern. It was so simple. Select the point of focus; enter the number of images to be taken in front of that point; enter the number of images to be taken behind; Enter the focus steps (I left it at 1) and GO!

Here they are:

Not sure about your camera but ML does not work with my 5D3 on my Eye-Fi card. A search for eye-fi on the forums will bring up a number of hits.

OH SWEET SANTA CLAUSE! i'm so glad to hear that.
So whats the process for lightroom path just

1) get dng's in lightroom
2) export it out using the plugin?

I will have double the files so i delete the old dng's and keep the new exported dual iso ones from lightroom right and thats it?
Old dngs? You mean the ones you already converted? Or do you mean the dual ISO raw files?

The plugin converts raw to dng and you can edit the dng in lightroom.
