Hi.  I isolated the MLV's first thing from the others and no luck getting past 1458 frames, and I just tried it again.  I talked to my camera operator earlier and he said it was showing on screen that we were rolling the entire take, which was longer than 1:01 (1458 frames).  In the past (different ml version) I was shooting up to 9,000 frames at a time, no problem, and MLRaw Viewer has never disappointed in the past. 

It's ok though.  It was ambitious using Magic Lantern for the scene but we ended up getting enough footage to get us through despite the early cutoffs. Thx

I guess I just didn't notice them before because they weren't taking up much space.  This time, 4.29GBs.  This is normal? 
And after just reexamining the clips, they're all cutting off at 1458 frames for some reason. 

So, basically I got 6 minutes of footage for 128 GBs.
I'll keep checking to see if I did something wrong but I'm almost positive I didn't.

Today, I was shooting a scene and my two 64GB cards filled up very very quickly.  We had to stop shooting, I ran home, unloaded one of the cards, and the MLV's were there but so were numerous .M00's, .M01's, .M02's, .M03's, etc with each clip.  Some of the extra .M0's were 4GB's!  I had to take magic lantern off and shoot JPEG's to finish the scene. 

I love Magic Lantern, but why would this happen?  I didn't do anything differently than I have before.

N/A, you are a champion.  For my image sequence in Compressor, it was set at 29.97 fps.

I am shooting 23.976 1/48 shutter speed with nightly on my 7D.  I double-click the MLV file in my card's folder and a WAV file is created.  I then go into ML RawViewer, export the DNGS, take the DNGS into Lightroom, export TIFFS, make an image sequence in Compressor and then take the sequence into FCPX.  I then drag the WAV file under my sequence in FCPX.  The WAV will not match up with the clip.  I used a clapper board.  I read that you line up the beginning and then just snip off the end of the audio file but this isn't the case with my attempt to sync. 

The boom mic and camera mic audio are syncing together fine, but the picture doesn't seem to be able to sync with any of the audio.  It eventually becomes out of sync after the clapper board sound.  Am I doing something simple that is causing me not to be able to line up picture and sound?  I don't understand why it won't just sync. 

*Also, I don't know if this applies but when I move my .WAV file from the card folder to the desktop I get this error on my Mac. "The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "M17-0940.WAV" can't be read or written.
(Error code -36)"

Works for me.  Vignetting ON and OFF produces same exposure for stills.

Well, it's a noticeable shift, atleast on mine...maybe not "minor heart attack" but with a pay-client, it caused some alarm. 

I just tried it...
and when I enable Vignetting, it ups the exposure a bit in Live View, then once I take the photo, the exposure is darker (how it was before I enabled Vignetting.)

I have Expo. Override and ExpSim ON.  Everything is OFF in the Movie tab and it is working normally.  I am shooting in Manual mode.

I figured out what it was. Under the "Movie" tab I had "Vignetting" ON by accident.  Between shooting video and stills I always have to turn off FPS override for stills and must have accidentally hit Vignetting ON instead.  Thanks again for replies.

I think it will be less painful to just live with this problem.  Thank you for your replies.

Like I said, everything looks good on the screen until after I snap..then the shot looks dark.  It doesn't always do this, but happens enough to cause frustration.

No flash.  What other details specifically do you need?

When I am looking at the screen before taking the shot, it looks fine.  Then, I take the shot and it's dark.  I have Expo. Override and ExpSim ON.  This happens from time to time in the middle of shooting with clients and I always have a minor heart attack.  Why is it doing this?  It only happens every once in a while.  I'm exposing correctly. 

It does.  Thanks!  I'm getting pretty good results using Compressor 4 for the image sequence (Pro Res 4444), but good to know QT Pro 7 works as well.

I've been exporting TIFFs from Lightroom, dragging the folder into the FCPX timeline, chainging duration and creating a compound clip, but there is a LOT of lagtime.  Is there a way to just create a 16-bit .MOV with QT Pro 7 or Compressor 4 to edit with?  I'm getting pretty desperate here.   A little help would be great.

Looks like I can take TIFs into Quicktime 7 to create an image sequence, then create .mov which will be easier to import into FCPX.  I will look further into this.

(Modified 1)  Asked on another message board and they suggested using the Pro Res option in Compressor 4 for Image Sequencing, but unsuccessful thus far (blurry in FCPX). 

(Modified 2)  Used Pro Res 4444 Image Sequence with Compressor 4 and changed FCPX playback to "Best Quality" and it took care of previous blurriness.

So, I have been exporting DNGs via MLRawViewer, then taking the DNGs into LightRoom, exporting as TIFs to my desktop, then dragging them into FCPX (changing duration, compound clip).  I prefer not to use DaVinci because I am so familiar with LightRoom and FCPX, but when dragging 1000+ TIFs into FCPX, it is taking forever...even after installing an SSD drive.

My question is, is there another step I can implement in order to speed up the process.  I have heard Quicktime 7 can produce an image sequence.  Is there a possibility of importing the TIFs into Quicktime 7, then importing a .MOV file into FCPX to speed things up?

Please let me know what you think and how I can continue to use LR and FCPX, yet speed things along.

I have a mid-2011 iMac and tried the other suggestions.  Still no luck.  It played smoothly before, during tests, but can't figure out why it won't play smoothly now.  I'm not sure what to do.  I am currently exporting as MOV to check all the clips.  The sound plays normally, just the picture skips.  I know it might be frustrating with little issues like this, especially since you just put out a new update, (I'm using an older version) so if you don't have any other suggestions, I understand.  Thanks! 

As I said before, I really love this player.  It's been a life saver.  (unintended rhyme)  Although, I cannot get it to play my mlv's at 24 fps.  It's jerky...as if it's skipping frames or something.  I am still using an older version (v1.2.3) because it's what I'm familiar with and is easiest for me exporting.  Could someone please let me know how to get smooth playback?  Thanks!

@DeafEyeJedi @feureau  I checked again, and for the particular shot I posted on vimeo, I shot at 1/81 shutter speed on accident.  That is the reason for the shadows.  All of my other clips are 1/48 and they're fine.  Thanks for the responses!

On Nightly there is no option for Shutter Speed 1/48.  I select 1/50 with 23.976 FPS override (MLV 1728x972) and then it says "1/48" for some reason when I view it in the Viewer.  Why is this?  Do I need to change FPS override to exactly 24fps or 25 fps?

As of right now, I'm okay with the moving shadow.  It's probably due to low exposure or something, even though I haven't had this issue before. 
I'm mainly trying to figure out how to get smooth playback with the MlRawViewer now.  I've gone back to 1.2.3, but still choppy.  I was getting pink clips after exporting with 1.4.1.
