OTG Cable backup?
« on: December 17, 2013, 09:52:04 PM »
With ML having a File Explorer feature, would it possible to be able to use a OTG cable used on Android devices to backup the cameras memory card to an USB stick/device? We all know the rule of carrying more than one card, but say for instance one died or one was full and not backed up on a computer, Plug in the OTG cable with a USB stick, copy the contents over to the USB, format the card and carry on? The OTG cable is a great thing to own when owning a Android device and as there so cheap i could see it been a good little add on to the ML functions.

Cheers  :)

Get the DSLR Controller app and then you can do it.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.dslrcontroller

Doesn't work with every camera or phone though, read the FAQs and try the suggested app for testing before buying.

Works like a charm on my 550D and Nexus 5
Canon EOS 550D / Canon EF-S 10-22mm 1:3,5-4,5 USM / Canon EF-S 18-55 mm 3.5-5.6 IS / Canon EF-S 55-250mm 4,0-5,6 IS II / Canon EF 50mm 1:1.8 II / Canon Speedlite 430EX II

Use that alot! never knew it had that function, but also found that Nexus Media Importer also allows this. Thanks for replying though.
