I have a 600D and struggle to read the text, would it be possible to write a version where you can adjust the font size? for example, by pressing the zoom buttons (+ and -) to increase font size make reading the menus easier. i'm no programmer but i imagine this wouldnt be to difficult to achieve.
Also what about a facility to hide unused menu options so you just have the ones you use most often displayed. I think I read there is something similar but not for 600D

Not sure if ML uses the fonts inside the camera http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/Fonts
OR
There's a file in the ML folder called "fonts" not sure if they have something to do with it.

That's really all the help I can give.

ok thanks for replying, i took a look at the link and its way over my head. i have no understanding of programming lol

Ok, this is the only way how I know how to make the fonts bigger.
Go into the "ML" folder, then into "FONTS" (or "fonts) (might be lower or uppercase).
You will see these files;
arghlf22.rbf  argnor23.rbf  argnor28.rbf  argnor32.rbf  term12.rbf  term20.rbf

Delete these 2 files;
argnor23.rbf  argnor28.rbf

When you start the camera you will see an error in the top left corner how it can't load a font, that doesn't matter.
Now press the ML button (trash can, or whatever it is for your camera).
Big fonts!

IIRC the menu font is argnor32.rbf, so try deleting only this one. If a font file is not found, ML will fall back to Canon fonts, which are a bit larger.

Or you can grab the RBF font editor and design a larger version of the existing fonts:

http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/RBF_fonts
http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=8142.50

(probably the best way is to upscale the 23p font by 2x and fine-tune the edges)

I tried just deleting argnor23.rbf and it fell back to a different font. So I'm not sure if that means it's the ML font.

The term fonts are for the wording down the bottom because I deleted those and that went huge.

If you want higher fonts for the help text, you also need to implement some kind of scrolling. Most help texts were written for 2 lines x 59 characters with the old Terminus font; after the proportional fonts were introduced, some help texts became a bit longer.
