5d mark III best settings
« on: November 03, 2013, 11:59:41 PM »
I've been looking through the wiki and it looks like the generally chosen ISO's are not the ones that are best with ML.
http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/ISO

So I'm using those: ISO 85 (100), 170 (200), 350 (400), 700 (800), 1400 (1600), 2800 (3200), because it says they would be the best, correct?

I'm using CineStyle profile to get the most flexibility with 23.976 FPS, 1080p RAW recording. I would like to know if there is anything to improve to get a better image or is this pretty much the best?

*I've attached my setting images

Thanks! :)

Digital ISO has no effect on raw recordings, as well as Picture Styles ;)

I would't use AUTOWB for video, as it would lead to color shifts during the recording.

Alhough I'm not sure if WB settings affect RAW...

Wb or or picturestyle do NOT affect raw.
By the way, if you record h264, never ever use cinestyle!
This flat profile does not make anything better, except you are shooting in the dark...

Should I then deactivate Digital ISO altogether?
And what ISO to use?

Just use the multiples starting from 100 (100/200/400/800/1600/3200 etc)
You don't need eyes to see, you need vision.
