I tried to install the ML software for my EOS M with software version 2.0.2. I got the blinking green light and no installation. I downloaded new firmware from Canon and installed that and repeated my effort again. Still the blinking green light and no install. Do I need the old firmware version earlier than 2.0.2? That would be the first release from Canon with the focus problems.

When i downloaded the software from ML for the EOS M and extracted the files, I simply copied all the files and directories to the root of my 32 gig card which had been formatted and the cameras settings set back to default and the camera set to manual.

Did i miss something or do something incorrectly?

Thanks for any help...

Hell hath no fury like ML moderators on double/triple thread posters!

Assuming you survive it, let me know if my install guide helps

Sorry for the double posting. It's my first time and I wasn't sure where to post. I'll get the hang of it hopefully.

Thanks for your help. I'll give it a try.

I'd post your questions on the EOS-M on this thread

Keep in mind ML for the EOS-M is still in alpha, there are issues.  I'd spend a few hours readings as much as you can before jumping in.

What are you looking to do with ML?

The main thing is to have an intervalometer for time lapse.

Thanks

I originally missed the EOS card utility but added that to my sequence of operations. I made my SD card bootable and checked the EOS develop and bootable check boxes. Using that SD card, i extracted the files from the ML download for the EOS M. Still just get a blinking green light.

How long does the installation process take. I'm giving it about 20 seconds but may be cutting it short if it takes longer. I read that it's harmful if you let the green light blink too long.

Any other ideas? I appreciate the help!!

One other thing, looking at the EOS card utility, it says I'm using the EOSM106.fir firmware update file. Is this one OK?

Thanks again...

Put card into cardreader, format with NTFS, insert card into cam, format it there.
