Is there a way to toggle off the display of the OSD ( # frames, write speed meter) from SD/HDMI outputs so we can record cleaner video outputs for director or client playback?

As far as my test when today , i would say a big Yes!
On the 5D2 connected hdmi out of camera into Zacuto EVF bypass to
Atomos Ninja caputre . With No Overlays  ;) Clean output
Input signal is 1080i 29.97 YCbCr 8Bit it dose not change when recording raw video.

I'm editing the footage in to a short tutorial about it.
But i think the footage could be usable, at lest as Backup!

And you're shooting RAW? Where is the option to turn off on screen display?

Hello All  :)
Here is a short video about capturing the hdmi signal
So hdmi out of 5d2 to zacuto evf pass though
to atomos ninja hard driver recorder saved as prores 422 hq 1080i
Good for Backup I think :)

I love the idea of being able to turn the OSD off for recording a backup, but even more so for being able to playback the footage before I get to a computer to process it. I don't see a lot of the same options in the latest version for the mkiii as you seem to have on your mkii, but I could be missing something.

I started out just wanted to test my Zacuto EVF, because i heard people are having
Problems. So i  test this, but i though i would put little twist in to this, and try to capture
the hdmi stream. when i check it with my AJA Kona LHi capture card on the Mac.
i was getting a 422 8bit 1080i signal! and when you hit record the signal did no change.
So the Gears in my head started to turn!
And the Test is a result of that.

On a Second point, The setup is now making the 5d2 Camera inline with other
Cinema Camera with these capability, for a Professional On Site workflow.
This is no more a sample Hacked Camera, its a true  Cinema Camera  for  Professionals!
But the Rest of the World don't know it yet. :) :)

I have the same question as joshswain. I am using mkIII and I dont see the "interface" option on my current build. The frame guide kept shifting and especially when you shoot slow mo, it is not usable.
It also keeps disappearing too. Anyway, let me know how you got the interface option. Thanks!

Hi,  :)
I'm on a 5D2 with A_D_ hack Built Sept. 11 (the one with the disclaimer of Hot Pixels) its going to be a little different but,
basically i turn off anything to do with Global Draw. Specially when Recording.
The only Setting i forgot to Show in the Video was under Display Menu in ML there is a option to Clear overlays "Recording" = Yes.
I do not know if the 5d3 has the same menu or not. look for something to do with "Clear overlays"
I did a little searching on the form for the 5d3, and there is not much to talk about , it still is buggy.
But what i did find was to keep to the 1.13 firmware and August  21st built on the 5D3 for external monitors.
I do not know any more then that, being i work on 5D2.
I hope this helps.  :)
