Wiki Translation in French

I'm using ML for quite a long time now, and I would like to give a bit of my time to the cause by helping to the wiki translation.
I couldn't find anywhere the process to follow to translate the user guide in french (or at least the 40% missing).
The french translation has been stuck for almost a year, and I may help to work arround that.

Any clue on how to proceed?
