Magic Zoom appears dark during video recording

Just would like to know if this is a bug that the magic zoom appears all dark during video recording. When I am recording and trigger the magic zoom, the magic zoom preview appears all dark.   I am using a 5d2. The magic zoom works perfectly other time.
