I've tried various search routines but cannot find how to downgrade my Mk3 firmware so that I can use Magic Lantern.

Can anyone help me and also point me to a link where I can get the old firmware from

Are there any known problems from downgrading the firmware

thanks in hope

Do a Canon firmware upgrade.

Follow Canon upgrade method.  It is in a pdf file included in the download.

Ah right I understand what you meant now. Thanks

Are there any known glitches does anyone know from downgrading the firmware - any bits of code which don't get deleted or anything that I need to watch out for

None at all, just make sure you use a full battery and follow the instructions.
