Hi everyone, i have had a good look around and cant seem to find a answer to my question. Why is everyone using CF cards for RAW video and not SD Cards? and if people are using SD cards which one is best for continuous 1080p @ 25?

I have a 5D mk III

Thanks in advance

Don't just buy any CF card....get one that is as fast as you can afford. 1000X or higher, you might want to read up on it. When you get your CF card in the mail, make sure you run the read/write tests and if the card isn't as fast as it needs to be, send it back and get another one.

I can't overstress how important the card is with raw recording.

Another way to look at it, or at least I now do, is this

CF Card (1,000x) = ALMOST 1920x1080 continuous at 24fps (or 1728x972 continuous)
SD Card (95MBS) = 1280x720, 24 fps

Of even simpler

SD = 720p (24fps)
CF = 1080p (21fps)

When the video tests table (first in the list) will be populated (hope soon), we will reference to it in order to decide for the best CF cards and cameras for the resolutions we want : http://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=8000.msg72051#msg72051
If you think it's impossible, you have lost beforehand
