The real odds of having a problem with ML installation on 5D3?

Hello.

I got a 5D3 not long ago, and I'm about to go vacation/work abroad. Given the chance to shoot beautiful new landscapes and people, I naturally want to get the best results I can. I want to install ML, but there are these warning about bricking your camera and being out $3,500. What I want to know is: If I make sure I use a fresh battery and follow the instructions, what is the real risk of having a serious problem? The promise of focus peaking, zebras and wildly enhanced video is very tempting, but in the end it all depends on how serious of a risk we are talking about.

Thanks!

Stedda

I had ML on my 5D III since the day I pulled it out of the box new... no issues. Didn't think twice about using it.

However, I had already used ML on 2 previous cameras and had a good understanding of how it works and what to do/not do. I read up on ML before hand.

It's a personal decision and even though I haven't seen anyone come on here with concrete proof that ML has ruined their 5D III you still should ask yourself can you stomach a loss or repair cost. Only you can decide... to me the benefits far outweigh the risks.
