60D and HDR mode making double exposures

I installed ML today on my 60D purely for the HDR bracketing feature. However whenever i try to use it, the camera doubles the amount of images taken. just an example from the top of my head, the images will be taken like this: 1/60s, 1/125s, 1/125s, 1/250s, 1/250s. So its 5 frames but only 3 of them are differing exposures. I am getting this problem persistently in all my attempts. Anyone know whats going on?
