RAW video file extension
« on: June 06, 2013, 05:53:47 PM »
Current RAW video files are created with a .RAW file extension. Suggestion is to use something unique in order enable OS file/app association without conflicting with existing RAW audio and image formats.

How about .MLR?

Funny idea.

But, the RAW files have always to be converted to be usable. And with tools like RAWMagic, you don't even need to copy them first, but on the fly convert them directly from the card into CinemaDNG.

Thus another extensionis simply not necessary. Only for marketing reasons, it could be a very nice idea  ;D

It's not for marketing.. unique file extensions allow you to perform actions on a file by simply double-clicking them. So for example, you could double click a file residing on a card within Finder/Explorer, and it will automatically invoke RAWMagic.
