Hi,

I'm in the process of installing Magic Lantern on my T2i. Before I did I made sure to upgrade to 1.0.9 Firmware. After doing so, when I press the shutter button even just a little bit the shutter fires ( a picture isn't taken) but then when i take a picture the same sound fires again and a photos is taken.

Simply put, when taking a photo the shutter sound fires both when 1/2 pressed and when the photo is captured.

Has anyone else run into this? Again magic lantern isn't on the camera yet.

If anyone has any tips on where to find 1.0.8 so that I may down grade that information would be helpful too.

Thanks
Kristi

I have a 550D (t2i), and I have never experienced this problem.
I upgraded the firmware myself as well from 1.0.8 to 1.0.9 with no problems.
Can you re-flash the firmware?

Have tried "clear settings" in the Canon menu?

Thank you for the suggestions. I took the battery out for 30 seconds, turned the camera on and the issue was gone. Must just be a weird bug.

Thanks!

It's called Mirror lockup. Turn it off under C.Fns. It is for reducing vibrations for long exposures, macros, etc.
