Hello, I am going to get a remote for my Camera so I can start video using the half-press shutter function. Only problem is that is the same function that brings up Canon's default light meter. How are you supposed to meter the shot without recording everytime?

You are not supposed to use Canon meter. Use histogram, waveform...

Histogram alone will not suffice in correctly metering a shot. Not sure what waveform is, I'll look into it.
