How to download Raw footage on 2.0 USB with Komputerbay CF card

Hello ML Family,

I'm new to ML and I have a 5d III, my problem is I have a mid 2010 macbook pro with latest iOS (Mountain Lion). On this version of macbook pro I only have 2.0 USB, and Komputerbay stated not to use firewire for data transfer with there cards for Raw footage. Trying to find a work around if anyone knows of one please HELP !

Get a USB 3.0 CF reader, and use that on your USB 2.0 port. It is the chipset on the older USB 2.0 CF reader that shorts the KB CF cards.

You won't be getting faster data transfers but at least your CF card's safety chip won't trip off or short.

They probably recommended the kingston brand. I used a SIIG brand that works for me.

Thanks for your help I have been racking my brain trying to figure a work around, I wasn't sure by doing what you suggested would work, but now that you have explained it I'm going for gold !
