Looks really interesting. I think one can´t do too much wrong for the price. I only wonder how bright it is.

The monitor alone goes for 25 bucks, for example here

On the other hand, ok, this one is more than double the price, but still quite cheap, and it has all you need to go without having to hassle with housing and so on: Click

No doubt, 115,99€ is good price... but then with the VAT/TAX's for portugal is just going up the price, a lot. Im trying to not buy stuff more then 45€ outside of europe because of the vat/tax's/customs.

...and of course i love diy projects 


Just checking now the technical data from smallhd and try to find something similar... and more cheaper.

I'd check the DPI of the screen, esp at lower res like 800x480. Results aren't stellar on the small screens I've used.

The screen is probably fine for framing, the thing about cheap screens is they'll be a terrible representation of colour, but if you're using scopes to calibrate then that won't be a problem.

For color i think is not the problem  if i record raw and also can use the ML  scopes.

tablet thing? has no HDMI in so unless you have a 6D or that new 70D(w).
