Live View for Long Periods of Time

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has used Magic Lantern to allow them to stream live view via hdmi for periods of 2 hours continuously? Basically, i would like to convert my dslr to a broadcast camera for 2 hour events.

Any do this before? Will it work? Will it damage the camera?

Turn off power saving, clear overlays and set sticky half shutter so camera doesn't fall asleep. Should be fine.

Hello,

I have made some tests on music gig.

With the 600D/T3i and battery grip (6 x AA 2000mA), I have record for 2h30 without problem.
For 550D even with grip, the heat warning comes very soon but it record at least 1h30.

The 5D mark II with the orignal battery for 1h50 of recording.

All this test with live view on, zebra, histogram and movie-restart but without powersave settings.
