Limited-range apertures Program mode

Program mode is so many times useless because it goes into max aperture (or /less so/ min aperture).
These apertures are either of low quality or too shallow for accurate AF.
What is needed is P mode with say "-1/2 f-stop" meaning "first usable aperture is the max one minus 1/2"

This may include
-1/3 f-stop
-1/2 f-stop
-1 f-stop

I guess you see what I mean.

Just use aperture priority in those situations.

Yes I do it 90% of the time
But almost never P for the reason described above..
