Camera frozen during firmware update

I just tried to do a Firmware update on a Canon 5d Classic. I'm sure I didn't touch a button during the update but now the menu won't come on. Have I just ruined my camera, it's 7 years old but brand new to me.

Oh you beauty I just took the battery out, replaced it and it's now updating.

P.S. If the moderator is reading this I have ML on my 5D2 and I totally love it
