Dear friends,

I think that the so annoying moire effect in movie mode is one of the largest downsides of DSLR video making. I wonder if there is any way to get rid of the moire patterns in post-processing? Do you have any tips how to fix this issue?

Regards.

crop mode on 600D. there are some plugins. there is a filter you can buy if you want to take your camera apart and one last thing... don't shoot things that give you moire.

imo, the rolling shutter is a bigger problem

AFAIK, there are some easy ways to get rid of the rolling shutter effect in post-processing. For instance, Adobe AE has something called "Rolling Shutter Repair" effect, if I recall correctly.
Why shouldn't I shoot the things that give me moire? Sometimes I don't have that much choice :) And sometimes I just can't stop myself from shooting those adorable stripes, grids and meshes...
Another drawback of the line-skipping method is aliasing. And pretty much anything with straight, high contrast edges can give that effect.
