is it possible to run ML on external host  like rasperry pi or any other host?

http://www.raspberrypi.org/

1. A custom made CF card adapter where wires are connected with CF card pinouts and these wires are soldiered on rasperry pi. (Making this adapter card is not ML developers responsibility.)

2. Now rasperry pi is controlling CF card pins and it is external.

Can we now install ML on rasperry pi..........

WHY all this

Rasperry pi is a very good platform, inexpensive, features, ports and if ML is ported than it means we will have a complete PC running our DSLRs. Internet connectivity, instant uploading, usbs, sensors to name a few. rasperry pi installed in battery grip :P http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=22556

I have read forum posts and did not find anything related. Sorry, If its duplicate. I am not a developer so plz excuse me for everything  :P

It's techically possible but I don't think the RPI has enough GPIO pins to "emulate" a CF card. Maybe an SD but I doubt it (btw, that's how the eyefi and similar card works)

You can simply connect the camera via USB to the RPI and use PTP to control ML (you'll have to work on the ML PTP interface but it's something worth looking into if you're really interested)

Nanomad.......thanks a lot for taking time to reply.

SD card is fine........I found a better way of doing that

This is a CF to SD card adapter and if we can use an SD card than wifi SD card i hope so.

Yes, I am definitely interested in working and that is why everyday I expect a 40d ML version you are working on :)) lots of people are anxiously waiting for ML 40d.

Another interesting application is to use an external board like raspberry/mk802 as Multi-Camera Contoller with an instance of ML controller Android running on each mini-pc connected to each camera, and a Master application on a Tablet or PC that can manage all camera.

As  I mentioned in this post:
