Is it possible to manipulate the curve of the images (jpeg and videos) in a similar way to the HTP in order to improve dinamyc range or give a better look to our shots? However, is it possible to introduce a in-camera curve adjustment tool?

I believe that's what picture styles like Cinestyle do

Picture styles are applied after HTP, and I think they only work on 12 bits, while HTP works on 14.

One thing is clear: HTP does bring more shadow detail than any picture style I've tried.

That's good to know, thank you a1ex. I wish the HTP setting was saved on shutdown, though.

It's saved, Canon firmware takes care of it.

For video, I have to re-enable HTP every time in the ISO submenu (using Feb24 version on 500D). Maybe this is intentional?

For photos, it stays on once enabled.
