Camera turns off when installing magic lantern

I installed magic lantern once before and recently I couldnt pull up the magic lantern screen when shooting video. I formatted my memory card and deleted magic lantern off my card. I reinstalled it and put it on my sd card. When I try to update the firm ware to install ML on the camera it shuts off.  What am I doing wrong?

Does the camera LED blink some kind of pattern?
Try updating to the supported canon firmware version for you camera first (see the documentation for the correct version) even if you already have it...
