There major difference in term of performance between Resolve and Premiere when I see videographers test new computers, sadly I can't use premiere as I don't use any crack software and won't pay the subscription, maybe if you got the latest version I can find a free week or something ?

But you can do it with your machine, try H.264 Interframe (but I can't verify on the help section if Its H.264 inter of intraframe here is the catch) vs CDNG with effects and see what is the smoothest, with the same footage and timeline.

If you can provide me the same MLV sample or better the same two transcode files too that would be sweet.

Its when you export the MLV file into another format/codec, so converting it in a new format/codec.

ex : .MLV format containing MLRAW codec -> transode=converting -> .Mov format containing ProRes 4444
