Dolby Vision unlocks the full spectrum of 14 bits

I've been re-grading more videos with Dolby Vision, and the results are fantastic.
This video was shot in low light, and the richness of the colour palette is phenomenal, with no banding to be found, and grading with Dolby is so easy!
Basically it only requires careful adjustment (rolloff) of the lum vs sat and sat vs sat curves on the right side of the curve. I'm guessing it is an issue somewhere with how resolve reads MLV DNG files?
It's not too difficult to adjust.

great , hope you are nice there even if alone. I am purchasing my first canon , so I am confused over 5d mark 2 or 6d . all I care is image quality . Can you give me any tips ?

I can't give advice on either of those two cameras since I use the 5d3, but I'm sure others will give you great advice!

this video is an even better example of what dolby vision can do for our raw footage.  i shot it in 2018 while starting out tinkering with the preamp gains, and to put it to the test, i shot these scenes in the most challenging conditions possible.  i didn't expect any of it to look good, but of course i hoped...

with dolby vision, details in the colour emerge in very "bad" spots, bringing it to life!  a perfect example is when i open the fridge door in the very dim kitchen, and the blown out highlights on the top shelf have beautiful correct colour.  this happened without any tweaking or desperate measures...

while i was at it, i made some updated blender scenes taking advantage of the newly improved particle physics.  i'll be doing a video about this.

i went against my instinct to make things as dark as possible on this dolby remaster, and it really highlights the difference it makes.  the dimly lit studio looks radiant!
