5D2 not entering live mode properly in ML

I use two Canon 5d2 cameras with ML installed on both in multicam shoots.  I'm fairly certain they are both set up identically.  Camera A enters straight into Live Viewing mode with the ML overlays, audio meters, info, etc. though camera B defaults to the Canon firmware in Live View mode.  I press the erase button and the ML menus appear but the camera will not show me the live view.  I tried swapping CF cards and updated the firmware to 2.1.2 to see if it was an issue with the installation of ML, but still camera B will not enter live view properly.  any suggestions as to what I could be doing wrong?
