Recently bought the 100D for its low price and ML goodies. As I understand it the 100D can shoot continuous 1.7K RAW video in 25p and 24p to SD card with 10bit and 12bit compression and 1728 x 736 is the sweet spot. Those figures were taken from this link https://www.eoshd.com/2017/06/enabling-10bit-raw-video-mini-canon-100d/, but it was written in June 22, 2017, unless anyone can tell me that the latest ML mod (if there is a latest as of 02 April 2018) can surpass those figures of said link.

Anyway, that's all good but I rather shoot HD 1080p so my question is has anyone found the perfect stable highest bitrate spot for 1080p. Am new to Canon and ML so any extra info for the best settings (or as most agree would be the ideal settings) for shooting at 1080p and any advise on settings for stills would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Use the 5x-magnification mode with 8 ... 11 bit lossless and set the resolution to 1920x1080.  This provides very stable recording with synchronous sound for reasonably long recording times but you have to get used to the magnified preview while recording.  No moire and aliasing!  Use good lenses and focus precisely!

IDA_ML, That seems good sound advise. Thank you kindly.
