Temporary skip external flash by pressing DOF button or the popup flash button without taking off or turning off the external flash. Pretty handy for wedding photography.

in ML now is press flash button to enable but doesn't have the press to disable... more useful to press to disable  ;D

or did i miss anything?

The DOF button is not easy to detect (works only with Canon lenses), so I'd go from some other button.

SET?

flash button easier? cause only DOF and flash button are easier to access while pressing it and shoot. Maybe the Q button also not bad. Last resort would be SET cause i'm using it to make my focus point to center.

Flash button would be nice as a switch. Nice suggestion.

Flash button is also hard to detect.

Normal buttons are: MENU, PLAY, SET, Q, arrows, DISP, INFO, DELETE, LiveView.

Anyone has a useless button when photography recommendation?

Can we use double click?
If yes I think INFO could be used in photo mode, one click flash toggle, double click default.
That could be used for other override also.
