Installing issues on T2i

So far I have installed ML to my T2i. Followed the instructions to the letter. Had proper firmware version. Put ML nightly on the card. Ran FU from the camera menu.....seems to be working BUT:

After restart I can see that some things have changed. There is a Time and Images/Empty space visible in the bottom grey bar of the home screen, however all of the menus in the sub-screens are still the default Canon menus.

I've UNinstalled a couple times, tried it with a couple SD cards, with Set button pressed and the two indicators I mentioned go back to Canon with the larger font......so that much is working. I can see the ML listed in the FU menu item but somehow the software is not initializing into the camera's brain. Not sure what is up here. If you can give me any advice it would be much appreciated.
