New C300 Mark 2 Pre-Production Camera - 4K Test Files MXF

Hi All Got my Hands on some Test footage from the New C300 Mark2 from Phillip Bloom
He did a review a few weeks ago On the Pre-Production Model and posted the Internal recorded footage for download.
I guess he will also release the Raw 4K footage soon.
The files are MXF 10bit AVC 4:2:2 , C-LOG 2 and C-Gamut I have a detailed metadata for the 2 files .
So if you like to have a look at the test footage I have uploaded to my Dropbox the links are below.
Be Warned ! there are 960 MB & 845 MB files. There can be view in Premiere Pro cc 2014

I must admit that it is indeed quite impressive with it's DR coming straight out of C300II especially for 10-bit 422. Guess it's the C-LOG 2 and C-Gamut that helps out.

Your welcome, Yea the images is pretty sweet they say there is 15 stops of DR and yes the C-LOG 2 and C-Gamut makes the differences.
I like the Codec, very light & maintains the DR even under Full grade there no performance loss on playback even on my old i5 dell "1764" laptop with upgraded SSD thou.
I being thinking about upgrading my 5D2 , being looking at "Red" camera , I like the upgrade path & I love Raw workflow and FCPX supports RD3 file (one of the biggest reason) and I can get in at about $13-16K  I can even pick a Used Epic for $10K  ,Now I see what the C300 Mrk2 can do Will I'm not sure anymore, since you can get 10bit Canon Raw video and the robust internal recording it may be one of best out there.
Yes I know  I could just buy a 5D3 and I more then likely will at some point , but dam the C300 mrk2 dose every thing I what a camera to do

well maybe not... But still yes I imagine the c300II being a decent workhorse with a nice codec that seems to be light on the NLE's (runs fine on my 2006 MBP in PP).

Although it does have mild improvement in DR, I still wasn't too fond of the c100II's footage that we shoot with at work even though it does give a much easier workflow for the post department. c300II annihilates this by a mile in terms of Codec/DR.

4K @ 30p is definitely under kill but still a nice feature to have -- however does having all these abilities in a single camera worth that price?

I'd wait for their market to drop down a year after their release and see how it plays out.

Bottom line, 5D3 MLV RAW is still good as gold and it never gets old.

I agree!
No matter what camera I end up upgrading to, there will always be a EOS (5D2 Or 5D3) ML enabled Camera in my Tool Box.
Can't imagine not having 14bit raw video these days, other then 4k video most cameras seems to be a step backwards in terms of Magic Lantern Raw Video.
