Can't get ML to work on my T21

I am trying to get ML on to my Rebel T21/ 550D but I can not get it to work. I do have the 1.0.9 firmware on my camera. My Battery is fully charged, I formatted my SD card before I started. But if I try to add the 1.0.9 firmware onto my camera or, try to add the ML files on my camera. I just the same message for both."update file cannot be found please check the memory card and reload the battery and try again.

Some things that might be useful.
I'm using the original canon battery, it is fully charged.
My SD card is: "Lexar 64gb 300x 45MB/s
I have a external memory card reader that I am using to put the files on.
I have my dial on M
I formatted my SD card to low level format

I download magiclantern-v2.3
I made my SD card bootable

Read instructions with care!
You have to install v2.3 first. There is a very detailed installation PDF included in v2.3. Read it!
You will find you cannot use a 64 GB card for first time installation.
