Hi
Maybe it`s a bit stupid question but I have to ask about something.
I use just CF on my camera - exactly KomputerBay 128GB 1066x - I bought it special for ML. I dont use any SD card bcs I dont want to work on slower card than my CF.
Today I decide to install ML on my 5d Mark III, but I just notice that my laptop has only SD card slot.
My question is, it is dangerous to copy magic latern files by usb on CF which is running in the camera?
I dont have any portable CF slot, that`s why I prefer to ask before my camera will brick.
I am pretty green in professional camera world, just starting my adventure about which one I was dreaming from childhood.
Thank You in advance for your patient and answer,

Pat

It is recommended to use a USB 3.0 UDMA card reader (to prevent possible corruption) for fast CF cards like the one you use (not running USB from camera to laptop).

I own both KB 128GB 1066's and Hoodman card reader which have been serving me well.

There are USB 3.0/2.0 cardreaders incompatible with Komputerbay cards, able to damage UDMA-7 cards.
There are cardreaders incompatible if outdated firmware is installed.
Get a decent USB 3.0 cardreader with UDMA-7 support (just "UDMA" won't do!) and check for firmware updates before using them with Komputerbay CF-cards.
