just wonder how much different is a EOS camera to a Canon camcorder that run DIGIC DV, can ML or the linux be ported to it?

is it a better chance that this XC10 can record raw in 4K?

Why bother waiting for a hack that probably never appears.

For the same money as the XC10, you can buy the black magic camera that records 4k in raw...right out the box

Magic Lantern will never hack a Camcorder, besides that you have 4k @ 4:2:2 8bit canon Log 'C" 12 Stops , 305 Mb/s MXF, 4K HDMI 10bit Uncompressed just like GH4 & A7s.
What more do you want and  You are ready to edit & grade that file , makes a excellent "B" Cam or "Crash Cam" will for me at least a "B" cam
or a second cam on interviews etc...

Well Not out of the Box Really , First you need to setup the cam , Lens, Mic, recording media . Then Process the Raw File adjust Color space etc...
So the $2,500.0 would not cover it add about another $1,500.0 to 2,000.0 at the very least more like $4,000.0 where as for $2,500. plus the cost of the Cfast card

After reading more about the C300 markii and the XC10 they share a lot internals, same sensor tech. etc.. Sound like a Strip down version
Really the Only Draw back is the fixed lens.
