Slit scan help

I've messed around with the silent picture slit scan feature, and I think it's great but I'm looking for something slightly different.

I'm using the slit cam program in post to convert video to slit scan photos. The program grabs a vertical or horizontal strip 1 px wide from each frame of the video and strings it together into a photo. Recording anything outside that strip is a waste...  Ideally the videos would be max horizontal resolution (5184 on my t4i/650) and vertical resolution doesn't matter (I've read it has to be a minimum of 16px?) So if someone could modify the raw_rec module and add in another aspect ratio (5184/16 = 324:1) that would be the best solution... right?
