Hi ML Developers

It´s possible development a Module to B&W Video and Still Photography with controls to enhance de luma channel and/or raw data capabilities in the same way of  the Leica M Monochrome ( "...The M Monochrom features a full-frame, 35 mm format sensor developed especially for black-and white photography. In contrast to conventional sensors, it has no need for color filters for individual pixels, and therefore requires no interpolation for the calculation of luminance values. This means that raw data and even JPEG image files from the M Monochrom can be used directly and without any further image processing. This speeds up the workflow, and enables photographers to capture images with greater brilliance, superior sharpness, enhanced tonal gradation, and resolution that can equal the quality of medium format. Due to their low compression value, JPEG files from the camera also satisfy professional demands...")

Thanks in advantage for your wonderfull works!!!

key words - "The M Monochrom features a full-frame, 35 mm format sensor developed especially for black-and white photography"

so no - use the picture profiles...

Yes ansius the M Monochrome its a special monochromatic 3CCD sensor instead of CMOS Color array EOS Sensor, if its technically possible; the request its on the way that enhance the mono picture style to a Module with deep controls over the B&W..

B & W falls under postprocessing, as no benefit can be obtained in camera.
If ML could discard the color information in an useful way (ie: reduce bitrate), then it would be an welcomed addition.

Go to youtube and search for:
removing bayer filter canon

Now you'll see some video's of people who turned their sensor in a monochrome  8)

These procedure can not be undone  :P ;D

Edit: I have no idea how the common RAW-editors will handle these monochrome raw photo's, the metadata in the raw file still says to handle it as a RGB colored file... :-\
